The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleborough, 25 South Main Street, announces the Annual, “Men Who Cook, Women Who Sing” on Saturday, May 19th at 6:00 pm (doors open at 5:45). Admission is a suggested donation of $25.00. Admission includes hearty appetizers and cold drinks, the great show and dessert buffet with coffee. Wine by the glass will be available. Admission available at the door or by calling 508-947-1935. The night starts downstairs in the hall where the “Men Who Cook” set up stations to present their specialty of the night. The competition is on with the UU Iron Chefs. They are gathering their recipes to create the best offering. There is always a great variety of hot and hearty appetizers to accompany the cheese and fruit platters and other finger foods. The food and wine is followed by the show of great music and laughter. There is a great deal of talent to be shared and there is always a wide variety of serious and hysterical, lively and thoughtful. In addition, there is the anticipation of the unexpected act that captures the show. The music is always uplifting. Following the show, the dessert buffet and coffee/tea will be served. This annual fundraiser is always great fun and a wonderful value. “We are known for our great food and music” offers a spokesperson. At a restaurant, an appetizer, dessert and coffee with tax and tip would add up to the ticket price without a great show. We hope you will join us for a great night. The night is not a sit down dinner, it is set up like a cocktail party to encourage tasting and mingling. Limited seating will be available for those with limited mobility. Admission can be reserved by calling 508-947-1935. Please note the 6:00 pm start time and doors do not open until 5:45.
