This month’s New Moon falls in the sign of Scorpio, perhaps the most misunderstood sign of the entire zodiac. Scorpio is a water sign and, as such, encourages us to dive deep into the emotional realm, plumbing the depths of long held beliefs and outgrown inherited ways of viewing the world.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday November 2, 2024, at 11am at the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleboro with reception to follow. The service will livestream here for those who cannot attend in person.
We hope you will join us for this fun night of music, sponsored by the Church and open to the public! We start at 6:00 p.m. with a potluck of hearty snacks in the Parish Hall, so bring along a favorite treat to share. A circle of chairs will be set up along with a portable keyboard, and we will provide some percussion instruments.
This month’s Full Moon occurs in the sign of Taurus, the quintessential Earth sign. Taurus reminds us of the importance of hearth and home, of belonging to a place, a family, a nation, an idealogy worth holding onto. Taurus encourages us to send our roots deep into Earth Herself for stability, nourishment and grounding in order to withstand whatever storms might be brewing on the horizon.
A raffle drawing for Linda Thompson’s beautiful quilt, specially created to raise funds for the church, will cap the Holiday Fair. The red, white and blue quilt, which measures 72" x 72", is called Anthem and is a Quilt of Valor, which usually commemorates a veteran, a person who served or a Gold Star mother.
We will be hosting a Holiday Craft Fair in the Parish Hall, chaired by Dorine Levasseur and Holly Begley. There will be a selection of home baked goods, soups, jams and jellies as well as a variety of crafts.
Note: The church calendar contains some events that are not open to everyone, so that we can plan for building use. Open events are shown on the home page. Click on an event to show the full description.
