Sunday School Classes: An Amazing Journey, On the Road Again
We are continuing on a pilgrimage of faith, exploring how Unitarian Universalism translates into life choices and everyday action. Our lessons will culminate at the youth service on June 12.  Has your child completed any activity that aligns with our seven principles?  Please be sure to come downstairs in the Parish Hall and add the activity to our path. We meet weekly at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

Snack and Play
We had multiple families visit our craft table and enjoy time relaxing and crafting.  Thank you to Leslie Sorrento and the Dragunas family for bringing the Duplo Blocks.  It added a lot of fun for the kids, and there were some great castles built and some great walls destroyed!

Craft Club
On May 15 at 12:00 p.m., we will get together and will work on various crafts for both our Faithful Footprints program as well as sharing some international snacks and games.

Field Trip
We are having an RE field trip on May 21.  At 9:15 a.m. we will meet at the Middleboro/Lakeville train station, head into South Station and have a UU history tour with Greg Stevens.  The tour will head to Faneuil Hall for lunch, and after lunch we walk the Labyrinth before we head back on the 3:00 p.m. train.  All are welcome!

RE Parent Meeting
CHANGE IN MAY SCHEDULE to the 4th Sunday of the month.  We usually meet the second Sunday each month at 11:45 virtually but we will push it off until 5/22 at the same time.  The link goes out via email and will be in the UU Updates each month.

Youth Group
Greg Stevens, Kelly Lownds and Barbara Bancroft are working with the Youth Groups. The Youth Group will meet from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on May 22 with Kelly and Barbara.  We will be planning for our LGBTQ volunteer efforts.

Coming of Age

Religious Exploration for Children and Youth

Religious Exploration at UU Middleboro works to allow our children and adults to freely explore together what it means to be a Unitarian Universalist.  We ask questions and search for answers together in an open and nurturing environment.  We draw our curriculum from the Tapestry of Faith.  Using out seven principles and six sources, we journey together to love one another, be fair, care for the earth, understand democratic principles, encourage continuous learning and work towards a world that is peaceful, fair and equitable.  We are a safe congregation, and we CORI the teachers and helpers in our program. Registration for RE is recommended, but all are welcome to try out our classes and spend time with our wonderful youth and teachers.

Current gatherings

We meet virtually every Sunday morning at 10am for ½ hour to discuss that week’s topic, play games, read stories and share crafts.  On the third Sunday of the month, we meet in person at the church at 12pm for an hour to complete some of our in person activities.  There are additional in-person gatherings for celebration and fellowship.

We don’t forget the parents either!  We have a monthly parent coffee hour that we hold virtually the second Sunday of the month at 11:45 after the church service.  Please join us!

OUR UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST PRINCIPLES
(IN LANGUAGE FOR CHILDREN)

  • We believe that each and every person is important.
  • We believe that all people should be treated fairly.
  • We believe that our churches are places where all people are accepted and where we keep on learning together.
  • We believe that each person must be free to search for what is true and right in life.
  • We believe that everyone should have a vote about things that concern them.
  • We believe in working for a peaceful, fair and free world.
  • We believe in caring for our planet earth.

Youth Groups

We have a Coming of Age Group that meets the second Sunday of the month from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Our Senior Youth Group (9th grade and up) meets the fourth Sunday of the month from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. along with the Junior Youth Group.
