Nursery CareNursery care is available during the church service each week, courtesy of Niko Pucillo-Dunphy. RE Children's ClassesThis morning we will be continuing our conversation about thresholds. We will walk our labyrinth starting at the threshold of that path and continuing to work on our name stones.  We are going to play a game and learn a song, and then we will be creating flowers to decorate our threshold at church. Bring your creative energy and get excited about meeting our bears. RE CommitteeWe will meet on the first Wednesday of the month, October 4, in person at the church at 6:30 p.m. 

The RE Committee will meet at church, and new members are welcome.  You do not need a child participating in the RE program to join, just ideas and a love of our youth.  Please consider volunteering to teach downstairs for a section of our program. We also need volunteers to help with plays and skits during the year as well as readers for our Message for All Ages during the service.  Please contact dre@uumiddleboro.org if you are interested. RE Children's ClassesWe will spend this morning talking about chalices, the symbol of our faith. We will make stained glass chalices today to bring home after church school. The bears are at church waiting to meet us, so we are hoping they will come out to play this morning as well.  There will be a handout sent home with the children this week for parents to peruse.

We are meeting this morning at 11:45 a.m. in the Parish Hall. This is an opportunity for parents to share during coffee hour.  We’re setting up a table for parents, and anyone who is interested is welcome to join us!

RE Children's ClassesThis year the children are exploring the concept of home, their family home, the homes of creatures of the earth, their spiritual homes and the homes of those outside our community and in the larger world.  We will consider our spiritual home and the symbols we embrace to represent it.  We build a bear of wholeness through the year, stuffing a teddy bear and filling it with badges that match our values, goals and loves.  Annual BonfireOur Annual Bonfire Party on Sunday, October 29. 

For RE this morning we will be talking about beehives. Our story will be about bees, and we will be making bees together and flying them to their hive. We are meeting today from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. We will be talking about the power of the earth and its ability to bring new life and nurture growth.  We will talk about growth in people and how we grow into our power and can make change in ourselves and in the world. This morning we will think about what bees do at home and will take a walk in nature to explore other habitats we might be able to find. Do you like honey?  We will take some time to make a honey parfait once we finish our nature walk. Kelly Lownds, DRE

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday, October 29, for our annual Bonfire/Halloween Party.   Costumes are encouraged!  This party will be indoors and outdoors; and while we won't be outside for a long time, we are hoping the kids can be dressed for whatever the weather brings!
