Middleboro Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans presenting CUUPS will be celebrating Lughnasadh, or “First Harvest,” at beautiful Soule Homestead, 40 Soule Street, Middleboro, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. We will gather in ritual to honor the land that continues to welcome us each year as well as other beings who live there. Come join us in ceremony, prayer, food and drink, dance the Elm Dance to honor the grand old tree that shaded our circle for many years, and offer up a living prayer for world peace. These two ways of knowing/being have been of importance, of concern, to Valerie since early childhood. She will be sharing some of the times and the ways in which she has floundered around with what has seemed to be a conundrum.
Quakers, or Friends, have been attending services since the 1600s. During their meetings, there are periods of silence. Barry Simon will share with us what drew him to attend their services. He and Patty will also provide us with some meditative music.
