Book Discussion: The Un-Whitewashed Story of America
The Dock C. Tracy Center for Human Reconciliation in West Roxbury is offering a Virtual Book Discussion on Michael Harriot’s The Un-Whitewashed Story of America.Known for his sharp wit and insightful analysis, Harriot offers a compelling retelling of American history that centers Black voices, experiences, and contributions often erased from traditional narratives. This book challenges us to rethink what we’ve been taught and confront uncomfortable truths about the foundations of America. Through storytelling and historical analysis, Harriot provides a nuanced perspective that is both educational and empowering. Discussion Highlights: How to Participate: This event will be held virtually via Zoom.
Transformation

How often have we been called to be more than we ever imagined we could be? There will be an opportunity for us to share our experiences during the service. The Chalice Choir will be singing. The mission of the Social Justice Team of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleborough is to help the congregation take actions that create positive change in people, in our communities and in the world. Unitarian Universalism is a covenantal theology of engagement. We covenant to affirm and promote the inherent worth and dignity of all people and to promote respect for the interdependent web of creation of which we are a part. We draw inspiration and truth from experiencing each other and the world around us. We witness both the beauty and brokenness of our world, and we choose to do social justice
