An Introduction to The Work That Reconnects
“How to face the mess we’re in with unexpected resilience and creative power.”
This four-hour workshop is offered by Natalie Johnson, a certified facilitator of The Work That Reconnects. We will gather in circle to ground ourselves in gratitude, practice naming and witnessing our pain for the world, learn to see with new and ancient eyes,
enter Deep Time, and finally compost our shared ideas of how to move forward into the world spreading our seeds of renewed hope and resolve……together.
This workshop is for YOU if you:
Believe in the intrinsic value of all life
Care about social justice and equality
Seek to leave opportunity for future generations
Want to do something but feel disempowered
Yearn to connect with likeminded people
Feel burned out with your activism work
The Work That Reconnects was developed by teacher/activist Joanna Macy and others decades ago as a response to the growing nuclear proliferation of that era. In the years since, we have only added more threats to life as we know it on the planet. This body of work offers teachings and practices that enable us to move out of despair and overwhelm, empowering us to create needed change. Drawing on deep ecology, spiritual precepts, and systems thinking, it explores ways to envision and promote life-sustaining society that honors all beings.
