De-Escalation Training – Still Some Spaces Left!
Presented by Meg Stone, Executive Director of IMPACT Boston
March 29 @ 9:30 am – 3:00 pm
This event will be hosted by the North Congregational Church (the little yellow church) located at 38 Plymouth Street, Middleboro.
This 5-hour workshop is a rare opportunity for a more comprehensive training with Meg Stone of IMPACT Boston than the 2-hour workshop we hosted two years ago. It is also an interfaith collaboration, co-hosted by the North Congregational Church, where it will be held, and Lakeville United Church of Christ.
With invitations extended to 14 neighboring congregations as well as to Bridgewater Communities for Civil Rights (BCCR), this will be a chance for community-building with people from other faith traditions and organizations. Don’t miss this opportunity!
Please pre-register ($20 donation appreciated but not mandatory) at https://secure.givelively.org/event/first-unitarian-universalist-society-of-middleborough/fuusm-events-and-programs-2025/de-escalation-training-2025
This workshop will teach participants how to remain calm when addressing difficult issues with strangers, friends, or family and how to respond effectively to common forms of defensive behavior. This non-partisan workshop is an invaluable opportunity to learn how to have civil discourse with people whose views may differ from our own.
We expect to have copies of Meg Stone’s recently released book, The Cost of Fear, available for purchase.
