Remembering the Earth and Ourselves as Sacred
Remembering the Earth and Ourselves as Sacred
Led by the Local Chapter of the Covenant of Unitarian Universalist Pagans It has now been fifty-four years since the first Earth Day celebration. We have mounted campaigns, crafted slogans, held a yearly COP in far away places, seen protests and marches, made promises and resolutions. The scientists have warned us of the outcome of continuing on our present trajectory, and sadly nothing seems to have made much of an impact. From this pulpit we have considered the Earth as our Mother, our home and our beloved Anam Cara… This year we will explore a different idea. Many people now

A Note from the DREPlease consider joining us for one of our RE classes. All our children this year are “Building Bears of Wholeness” and collecting badges that support our values. Our goals for our children are to have time for faith, fellowship, food and fun; and we work hard to provide this! It also follows closely on the heels of Earth Day, the one day each year when humans celebrate the beauty and bounty of our planet, holding celebrations, festivals and ceremonies in honor of our beloved Mother Earth. It has now been 54 years since the first Earth Day when we became aware of the deleterious effects our collective lifestyle was having on Her and yet... for the most part, we continue to ignore the warnings, the

Set-Up for Spring Gala
Set-Up for Spring Gala
For Tapas:
We need small appetizers that will be set up at "stations;" and since we have chafing dishes, they can be warm and, of course, you can bring food in crock pots. So far we have 4 commitments. Think of something interesting you can make/prepare and serve for that night before the show. We will also need crackers, cheese, hummus & veggies, fruit, etc., for a cold appetizer table.

Have you ever been inside a whale? Or tried out an induction cooktop? Been to a big event held in a safe, enclosed space (the High School gym), so your children can explore kid-friendly, fun educational activities while you explore the nuts and bolts of achieving a more comfortable house--warm in winter, cool in summer--without breaking the bank?
