Sierra Club Outing: Pine Barrens Hike in Myles Standish State Forest
With the Pine Barrens/Community Land and Water Coalition and the Friends of Myles Standish State Forest (MSSF). Learn about ecology, geology, flora, fauna, and forest protection, also threats like sand mining and solar siting in the region. Brief pre-hike talk by Sierra Club Outings Leader; Linda Coombs of the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe; and Meg Sheehan and Katherine Harrelson from Community Land & Water Coalition/Save the Pine Barrens. This is a 5-mile spring hike through the exceptional Myles Standish State Forest.
