Susan Hotchkiss and Music Friends Join us for a musical Sunday designed to explore the ways in which we not only hear but actively listen to words, to music, to silence. This new twist on Sunday worship features a quirky piece called Cosmic Festival sung by a Chalice Ensemble, accompanied by electronic sounds, and sung from a score set in a spiral.
Rev. Peter Connolly preaching The second Sunday of Advent commemorates the gift of love. Love has so many meanings, though. What does love mean for UUs in the season of Advent? The Chalice Choir will be singing “This Ancient Love.”
Rev. Peter Connolly preaching On the third Sunday of Advent, we think about what brings us joy, looking through the lens of innocence and experience, especially via the poetry of William Blake. Bet Giddings will be sharing her music throughout the service.
Rev. Peter Connolly preaching The fourth Sunday of Advent commemorates the gift of peace. How can we seek peace amidst violence, both in our world and in ourselves? There will be a “Family Choir.” All are welcome to join in the choir. Rehearsal is at 10:00 before the service.
The Christmas Eve service is a celebration of this holy time with music, meditations, carols and a Nativity. Music will include Shelley Otis on Celtic Harp, the Chalice Choir, solos, and ensembles.
