My Civil Rights Pilgrimage to the Deep South
Dody Adkins-Perry presenting In 2017, Dody went on a 9-day pilgrimage through Alabama, Mississippi, and Memphis, Tennessee. The Living Legacy Project says, “The Pilgrimage is so much more than a civil rights history tour.” The group did visit historic sights, but they also met with veterans there, working in small consciousness-raising groups dealing with our relationship to racism and white privilege.

Postcarding Party
Postcarding parties will be held in the parish hall on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 2-3:30 pm, and Wednesday, Sept. 11 from 6-7:30 pm. We will have postcards from Workers Circle on which we will write messages to swing-state voters who have been identified as often not voting, encouraging them to get to the polls. We mention issues but not candidates. Bring colored pens if you have them, and let Lois Aldrich know you are coming--or just stop by! Lois will mail the cards all at once in October. A "Meet the Candidates" Forum will be held this Thursday, August 29, on Zoom, at 8:30 am. This is your chance to get a sense of the candidates for the seat long held by Senator Marc Pacheco: Barry Sanders (D), Joe Pacheco (D), Kelly Dooner (R), and Jim Dupont (I).
Sanders and Pacheco (no relation to Marc Pacheco) will face off in the State Primary next Tuesday, September 3. Polls will be open 7 am - 8 pm. Dooner and Dupont are unopposed until the General Election on Nov. 5. Last date to register for the General Election is Oct. 26.
