Jeff Giddings Presenting If we are mindful and not wasteful, somehow we often receive what we need. A deep awareness of this cosmic generosity affects the way we feel about the world and other people. Bet Giddings will provide a musical offering, and Patty Simon’s recorder quartet will provide special music. The children collected their first “I am” badge and reviewed the meaning of “threshold” and being welcoming.  Additional badges will be offered every other week to ensure the children obtain the 16 badges for the lessons they had this year.  They are inserting the badges into their build-a-bears.  Next month we will be talking about legacies and some of our Unitarian Universalist heroes. Rev. Connolly is offering a class on Unitarian Universalist perspectives on religious humanism.  The text we will be using is entitled, Humanist Voices in Unitarian Universalism, which the UUA bookstore describes as follows, “Unitarian Universalist Humanists present their faith perspectives in 23 engaging and thought-provoking essays. They explore Humanist history, beliefs, approach to life, social justice, community, and religious education.” The class will be offered in six 90-minute sessions on Sundays at 12:30 pm, beginning on January 21. The OWL group has changed its meeting dates this month to March  3 and March 17 to accommodate schedules. We are meeting today in the Avis Clay Parlor at 12:30 p.m.

The Poor Peoples Campaign's nationwide Moral March day of action will take place on Saturday, March 2, at 10 am in most state capitals across the country. There will be a follow up action Monday, March 4 at 10 am to lobby and deliver demands to legislators. The Poor Peoples Campaign represents the urgent needs of poor people and low-wage workers.

The Peaceful Quilters meet every Tuesday in the Parish Hall.

Help is available to assist with meals and more during illnesses or other family emergencies.  You are always invited to call or visit our minister to discuss any matter of concern to you.

The Chalice Choir is a volunteer group that meets in the Parish Hall on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30. This choir sings every other Sunday from a wide variety of choral anthems, most set in four parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Membership is open but limited. "be;" is a new group founded and led by LBGTQ+ leaders to provide a safe, affirming and open space for the LGBTQ+ and Adults with Differing Abilities to "gather, create, support, heal and come together." They hold a monthly Parent/Caretaker support group on the first Wednesday, 6:30-7:30 at 71 Central Square, Bridgewater, and various social and creative gatherings featuring activities such as karaoke. https://be-community.org/

The Music Committee meets on Zoom the first Wednesday of the month.

The Team brings news and information to the congregation about social justice events and activities being held in our community, offers training and runs events that are of major interest to church members, and actively supports several local organizations including Bridgewater Committee for Civil Rights (BCCR). The Brockton Chapter of the NAACP, the Matthew Mission Food Pantry, and Sustainable Middleboro. The Social Justice Team meets every other Friday.

We hope you will join us for this fun night of music, sponsored by the Church and open to the public!  We start at 6:00 p.m. with a potluck of hearty snacks in the Parish Hall, so bring along a favorite treat to share.  A circle of chairs will be set up along with a portable keyboard, and we will provide some percussion instruments.
