Wampanoag Foodways at the Library
Middleborough Public Library, 102 North Main Street in person, or on Zoom Kitty Hendricks-Miller (Nenaweetah) of the Mashpee Wampanoag Education Department will offer a glimpse into traditional foods and cooking methods to teens and adults, age 14 and up. Besides discussing seasonal and sustainable foods, she will be cooking Quail Soup with Vegetables and Spring Greens. Chalice Choir Rehearsal
The Chalice Choir is a volunteer group that meets in the Parish Hall on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30. This choir sings every other Sunday from a wide variety of choral anthems, most set in four parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. Membership is open but limited. We are writing postcards to registered voters in districts that have low voting rates and have historically been disenfranchised. We’re using a tested script, so it’s easy, no creativity required (though we’re encouraged to use colored pens, if we want, to enliven our handwritten cards). Currently we are writing cards to Georgia in time for their May 21 primary. The goal is to establish a habit of voting and also to give voters time to resolve any issues they may encounter with required voter i.d. cards, or other obstacles to their voting, before November. The Team brings news and information to the congregation about social justice events and activities being held in our community, offers training and runs events that are of major interest to church members, and actively supports several local organizations including Bridgewater Committee for Civil Rights (BCCR). The Brockton Chapter of the NAACP, the Matthew Mission Food Pantry, and Sustainable Middleboro. The Social Justice Team meets every other Friday.

Mashpee Wampanoag Honor the Earth Fair & Taste of the Earth Cooking Contest
At the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe Government Center at 29 Holland Mill Road, Mashpee (off Great Neck Road just south of #483). The Tribe invites us to the Honor the Earth Fair featuring exhibitors and vendors with a shared mission to protect and preserve the ancestral homelands of the Mashpee Wampanoag. Free and open to the public, the Fair is co-hosted by the Native Land Conservancy (NLC) and the Mashpee Wampanoag Natural Resources Department. Festivities will include opening remarks by Chief Earl Mills, Jr, cultural crafts, traditional singing and dancing, and activities for children.
