CUUPS Imbolc Ritual

The Wheel of the Year brings us to our first holy day of 2023, the fire festival of Imbolc. This day focuses on many things. Cleaning and purification….it is time to sweep away any lingering residue from last year in order to move fully into the new. It gives us the first promise of Spring, as witnessed by longer days, greater light and the higher trajectory of the sun in the sky. It is the time of the Quickening…..when we can sense new life beginning to stir deep within the ground hidden from sight but felt nonetheless. It is the time of Hope. Finally, it is a time to honor Brighid, the great Irish Goddess of poetry, smithcraft and healing. We are all invited to place ourselves upon her anvil and invite her to use fire and hammer to temper us in the fire, to purify our intentions and ultimately to make us stronger.
We invite you to bring along a bit of poetry or reading and also to share what the promise of Spring means to you at this time of year.
We will share a simple potluck feast after the ritual. All are welcome.
