CUUPS
SUMMER SOLSTICE RITUAL
Monday, June 20
7:00 p.m.
in the Parish Hall
CUUPS will celebrate Summer Solstice as the sun appears to stand still in the sky. At Solstice the power of the sun is at its zenith. From this point on, the height and warmth of this great lifegiving celestial being begins to slowly wane, and each day its influence on Earth lessens as we move toward Fall.
Although it would seem that we are in high summer, we recognize that the Wheel has turned once again and that the time of growth is diminishing. We will busy ourselves with harvesting and preserving the abundance all around us while remembering that soon enough we will again be chasing away the cold. For now, though, let us gather to enjoy the gifts of Mother Earth and revel in the sweetness of all she has to offer. Join us this night in celebration of Mother Earth and Father Sky.
Following the ritual, we will enjoy a shared simple feast of food and drink while following the guidelines for gathering.
All are welcome.
Note: The church calendar contains some events that are not open to everyone, so that we can plan for building use. Open events are shown on the home page. Click on an event to show the full description.
