CUUPS Winter Solstice Ritual – CANCELLED

Due to inclement weather, the Winter Solstice Ritual is cancelled.
Join us as we honor the Longest Night and rejoice in the knowledge that from this time on, the sun will rise each day higher and stronger in the sky. Like many cultures worldwide, we celebrate the return of the Light, the triumph of Light over Darkness, the rebirth of the Sun.
Once we have reached this point on the Wheel, we can be assured that even though it is still cold and wintery, Spring will come, and life will once again be abundant and easier. In these current times of darkness in the world at large, it is an act of courage and hope to proclaim the growing light. As we light our candles, we will name our own hopes and desires for humanity everywhere to turn away from the darkness and step once again into the light.
We gather also to honor the darkness for the fertile ground it is, the source of dreams, of creativity, of the tender seeds we will safeguard deep with the earth until it is time for them to emerge into the light. Ours will be a quiet intimate gathering as we share stories, poetry, readings, and tell of our own hopes and dreams for the coming year and what we will do to ensure their success.
Our ritual will be followed by a simple feast. All are welcome.
