Impact Boston will provide a 2-hour De-Escalation Training session downstairs at the church. Increase your ability to prevent uncomfortable situations from escalating and learn concrete ways to increase your safety if they do. Register now!
Please register as soon as possible, as we will be opening up registration to the general Middleboro community. The fee is $15. (Contact the church office at 508-947-1935 or office@uumiddleboro.org if you would like to attend but can’t afford the fee.)
In this time of strong political disagreement, how can we express our opinions while minimizing the chances of very negative outcomes? Whether at Saturday Black Lives Matter events or simply talking with people who strongly disagree with us, what can we do to improve the chances of a positive result?
In this workshop, instructors Meg Stone and Rick Jackson demonstrate realistic scenarios and model strategies for maintaining calm and safety. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills with an instructor who plays the role of the person who is escalating. This experiential practice helps participants think on their feet and learn to manage their own stress response and respond effectively in the moment of confrontation.
