How (Not) to Pursue Happiness
Rev. Dan Hotchkiss preaching
February 4 @ 10:30 am – 11:30 am
The idea that we should live in the pursuit of happiness is embedded deep in our culture. We lose weight, earn money, make friends, and even cultivate our families and friendships in the hope of making ourselves happy. Dan Hotchkiss will share one of his favorite Bible books, Ecclesiastes, which offers some other ways to think about the purpose of our lives. Special music will be provided by Tony Soares.
This morning we welcome Rev. Dan Hotchkiss to the pulpit. Dan is a UU minister and author of Governance and Ministry: Rethinking Board Leadership. Dan has consulted with Christian, Jewish, and Islamic leaders in more than 33 faith traditions on planning, leadership, and board governance. Previously, Dan managed ministerial placement for the UUA and served UU churches in New Haven and Boca Raton. He is active in UU Middleboro, where his wife Susan serves as music director.
