Each summer the Parish Committee holds a retreat to reflect on the long-range vision and mission of the church and to plan for the coming year. This year’s retreat will be held at the church on Sunday, August 25, from 10:00-5:00. Attendance is limited to PC members and the Minister.
The coming year brings great opportunities for UU Middleboro with the arrival of our new minister, Rev. Beau Rivers, as well as new members, invigorated committees, and emerging special interest groups. At the same time, our entire program depends on the ongoing generosity of our members, and we face the challenge of maintaining our building and activities with limited financial resources. The PC’s responsibility is to steer us through these opportunities and challenges in the direction of the vision and mission of the church.
At the annual retreat, the PC takes a broad look at the church’s goals and needs for the coming year and for the future. This year’s agenda will include discussion of our vision, a review of challenges and priorities, and consideration of modifications to our organizational structure.
The retreat will begin at 10:00 in the Parlor. At 12:30 the group will move downstairs to the Parish Hall where they will be treated to lunch brought in from local eateries and served by a small team of volunteers directed by Tony Soares. After lunch the retreat will continue in the Parish Hall until 5:00.
