Tribute to Bob Waterman

On May 16 we will honor Bob Waterman by putting a plaque on the pew where he always sat. There will be an opportunity if you would like to offer a line or two of remembrance. The service will take place in the sanctuary from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Social Justice Team Meeting on Zoom

The Team brings news and information to the congregation about social justice events and activities being held in our community, offers training and runs events that are of major interest to church members, and actively supports several local organizations including Bridgewater Committee for Civil Rights (BCCR). The Brockton Chapter of the NAACP, the Matthew Mission Food Pantry, and Sustainable Middleboro. The Social Justice Team meets every other Friday.

Sierra Club Outing: Pine Barrens Hike in Myles Standish State Forest

With the Pine Barrens/Community Land and Water Coalition and the Friends of Myles Standish State Forest (MSSF). Learn about ecology, geology, flora, fauna, and forest protection, also threats like sand mining and solar siting in the region. Brief pre-hike talk by Sierra Club Outings Leader; Linda Coombs of the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe; and Meg Sheehan and Katherine Harrelson from Community Land & Water Coalition/Save the Pine Barrens. This is a 5-mile spring hike through the exceptional Myles Standish State Forest. Connections: Music, Nature, People Music Sunday this year is a series of reflections on MUSIC by Susan Hotchkiss  (Music Director), joined by the Chalice Choir, vocal ensembles, soloists, and instrumentalists.  What is the connection between music and nature, music and people, people and nature? Why is music important? Quoting Frank Ticheli, “music and singing can be our refuge, our light against darkness and strife.” Join us as we celebrate the power of music and its ability to connect us all.

Please consider joining us for one of our RE classes.  We have a nursery with two babysitters each week for young children and infants as well as a Religious Exploration class for children.  We are a small but mighty group and welcome all newcomers.  If your children are older, we have a youth group that meets twice monthly on Sunday evenings.  All our children this year are “Building Bears of Wholeness” and collecting badges that support our values.  There are always new bears for newcomers no matter the age or how long they join us!

Buddhist Voices: An Adult RE Experience

Our Whole Lives is for youth ages 12 - 16.  We have 3 leaders - Kelly Lownds, Greg Stevens and Katie Melchior - sharing the responsibility and privilege of teaching OWL to our youth.  We have a schedule four our meetings.
